The SOFC is the primary funding body for all of Boston College’s student organizations that do not qualify as club sports or part of UGBC. Our purpose is to allocate a portion of the student activity fee to these organizations - nearly 200 to date.
We hold weekly meetings on Friday afternoons to discuss budget requests, decide on funding allocations, and deliberate various policy changes.
The SOFC board consists of a total of seventeen to twenty voting members, mainly undergraduate students and a representative of the Office of Student Involvement. We also have mentees every fall semester and ex-officio members every spring.
